No One Cares About Your Break-Up Poem!!! showcases Clare Thiessen’s sharp sense of humour, her honesty, and her moving self-awareness. Taking a searching and wild form, the poem manages to convey the aching grief of a break-up but through an often lightly wielded, wry self-critique. Expertly attuned to the core aesthetics and formal preoccupations of John Lent’s stellar body of work while also cultivating a crackling voice of her own, Thiessen announces herself as a bright new talent in Canadian literature.
