In An Interrupted Morning, the death of the family hamster reveals a fundamental disagreement on the value of truth. As the parents struggle over what to tell their four-year-old daughter, the Quixotic narrator finds himself at odds with all around him. His commitment to truth above all else is by turns comic and sinister, and results in a story that will stay with the reader for a long time.
